Fiery Doom Girl: "Daddy, can I watch TV? I want Dora."
check satellite menu - no Dora on kids' list of channels. Not now, not in the next hour. K. Handy Mannny looks good.
FDG: *pokepoke* "Daddy, Mickey Mouse is one. I don't want Mickey Mouse. I want Dora."
Me: "Sorry, punkin pie, there's no Dora."
FDG: Yes, there is!" *sleevetug*
okay, no mouse today. Kids' list says -- Dora for the next hour-and-a-half on the YouShouldHaveSeenItEarlier Channel. Fine.
Television: "Where does Dora have to go next? ... To the Big Mountain!"
whew. another crisis solved.
FDG: I don't want that one. I want Dora to go to the beach! *pause for internal monologue* *nodnod* "Yes. That's what I want."
Y'know, folks, in my day, we went where TV told us to go. We didn't argue with TV. And we were grateful.
